Lessons from Iraq

When it comes to weapons of choice, we're learning the same lessons in Iraq that we've been learning for 40 years: Infantry weapons need two characteristics: Reliability and knock-down power. Somehow, in our quest for lighter lethality, we seem to keep forgetting that. Iraqi insurgents (mostly foreign fighters, are often doped to the gills on opiates) are the new Morros, and it takes a big round to put them down with one body hit.

This is a good article on the weapons being used by the good guys and the bad guys over there, and those weapons' effectiveness.
